Regis or Meredith?

I'm a diehard Regis fan myself. I never liked Meredith because she comes off as bland and stiff compared to Regis, IMO.

Reeg, no contest. Although I do like the fact that Meredith hasn't talked anyone into/out of an answer yet...Reege has, erm, influenced a few people into second guessing themselves (or in one case, Reeg just about *gave* a guy an incorrect answer).

Regis, hands down.  To me, Meredeth seems really over-sedated and out of place at times.

In Meridith's defense though, I think she isn't too bad...If Reege would have got the syndie job, I think the show doesn't last more than one year for everyone would be burnt out on Regis.  

Also comparing Regis to Meridith, Regis tends to be a bit long-winded when interacting with the contestants in the hotseat at times.  I'm not saying that's a bad thing, because some of Millionaire's most memorable moments come from Regis's grilling of contestants in the hotseat, I'm just saying it wouldn't work in a half-hour format...Which is why Meridith is good for the version she has and Regis is good for the version(s) he has.

Believe it or not, I vote for Meredith since she's calm with the contestants.

This is only the second game show where there's a different gender host/ess on the network/syndicated version.  Win Lose or Draw was first (Vicki Lawrence-NBC/Bert Convy-Synd).

I liked Meredith by miles over Regis when she first started, because she built up suspense. However, someone got into Regis' ear and during this past Super Millionaire, he was amazing. They still should have taken commercial breaks in-between reveals though.

Personally, I think the reason why Merideth is so stiff is because she's limited to just less than 25 mins of actual gameplay, so I don't think it's really fair to judge her against someone who gets at least 55 mins.

Millionaire just doesn't work as a half-hour show.

I like Regis better because he can make the show happen whereas Meredith comes across as mundane as one can get although she seems to improve a bit this season.

On the subject of diffrent gender hosts, let's not forget Weakest Link.  The network version was hosted by Anne Robinson while the now defunct syndicated version was hosted by George Grey.

I personally like Meredith since she moves the show faster than Regis does.  In Super Millionaire, I wished they'd shut up the contestants and moved on with the show (The entire run of Super Millionaire just drug on and on...if they'd spent more time on questions, they'd have been better off)

Meredith also seems to do a better job with the people in the hot seat.  The way she psychs them out on the reveals is just plain priceless.  She's done that bit of going to commercial, she's also tricked them into thinking they were done when they weren't.  It makes for more interesting TV.

Meredith for me. Her fake-outs never get tiring for me, but Regis giving the verdict half a second after the contestant said "Final answer" got old really quickly.

Meredith is usually very creative in her reveals, too. With Regis, it's the same, "Just won $XX,000!!!". Boring.

 Weakest Link is also in this category (Ann Robinson-NBC, George Gray-Synd).  

Personally, I prefer Regis, in that he is funnier.  He knows how to draw out of the contestants very funny things.  Meredith, though, really gets connected with the contestants.  When they win a million dollars, she is genuinely very excited for them.
